Learn how to get the best angle for your digital photos. Read on.
Tips in getting the best angle for your photo subjects
One of the tips that could make the pictures you take look excellent is to look your subject in the eye. When you take the picture of someone, hold the camera at the person's eye level. Another important tip is to use a flash when outdoors. The light outdoors can create deep facial shadows, and turning the flash on can eliminate the tendency of this facial shadow. In taking digital photos, you also have to make sure that the subject is in the center. However, there are instances when your subject is better off-center. Doing this could bring a twist on a usual and ordinary scene.
Experimenting with unconventional angles
It also pays if you experiment with unconventional angles. In this way, you can come up with more creative photos that are very interesting. Unconventional angles can ensure that the images are not boring.
Other digital photography tips
One of the most important elements in photography is light. You can capture a very interesting image out of a very ordinary subject if you know how to play with light. This is why you should know the different effects that light can give to your subject.

They say an art is created during our deepest moments. For instance, you can write poetry if you are depressed or you can create a Van Gough painting when you are lonely. Is this because the world is naturally depressing that's why we find it easy to express ourselves during these moments? If it is so, how sad. Maybe, my idea's right. Our world is naturally depressing because of the recent events in the Middle East.

What is an art without reality? Don't we get our ideas from the real life? So, here it is now! The war, the bombings, the killings, death, violence, and suffering. All is available for your camera. Capture the moment while it is there (though I bet it will stay for ever). Why look for other photography objects? Live the moment and take a photo of those blood splatters and wrecked buildings. This is a good shoot, man!

Put some art on your photography. Shoot live blood splatters to make it more artistic at the same time realistic. Or, you can go to Lebanon and shoot those dead children lying on the ground. This would be a great masterpiece of massacre. They are dead now, so they won't see the world anymore. The least thing you can do for them is to put them in your photo artwork. This way, everyone will remember the life they have lived just for nothing.

Night photography is quite complicated than day photography. The primary reason is the inefficient light during night time because of the absence of sun. Shooting under the sun is another story, and night photographs have a more elegant appeal than day photos because of the dark shade that emphasizes the colors. The graceful flow of colors in night photos captivates the eyes. If there is added little artistry in it, the photo will become an artistic digital art.

Any camera can be used in night photography. However, you need a more advanced camera if you want to express your artistic side through night pictures. Night photography needs a camera that has B or bulb manual exposure and a tripod to prevent shakes. Be sure that you set the proper exposure to be able to capture a fantastic moment. Set your digital camera in a long exposure up to thirty (30) seconds, and your ready to click that button!

Nope! You don't need expensive digital cameras nor expensive photography gadgets just to shoot like a pro. All you need is a sense of style and creativity. You can shoot anything under the moonlight like the lamp post in your street or your backyard pine tree. If you travel a lot (like me who love Paris evening escapades), you can spot a unique object from that place and experiment on how to make it dazzling in your photo.

As innovative camera designs increasingly fill the market, most people probably care less for the disposable cameras stacked on the shelves. I still do. Call me nuts, but who cares? Without one, I would not have been in this very interesting and rewarding profession right now. I got my first cam when I was 7. It was a disposable one, yet it meant the world to me then.

I didn't quite understand why dad gave me one on my birthday. I was interested in other things then. Perhaps, it was simply meant as a toy. You know how kids like to try new things. But receiving the gift was life-changing because it awakened in me an interest for photography. Soon, I found myself taking shots on anything that caught my attention.

Yet as I grew up, I was asked to do more challenging tasks such as taking photos during birthday parties, baptisms, and even weddings. That was the time I decided to pursue photography. Just recently, I bought my newest digital Canon camera, an EOS 30D. Though I no longer find any need for using disposable cams, I'm glad they're still out on the shelves. My little girl celebrated her fifth birthday only 3 days ago. Guess what? I bought her a small and cute disposable cam as a gift.

People always say that a picture can paint a thousand words. Yeah, that is very true but I can make it paint millions. To those who just came out from their barns, there is a new technique to put several photos in one image. Photo Montage has been used by several photographers in their exhibits but they don't even give tips how to do it.
So as an artist, I'll teach you idiots how to do the unique photo style using Photoshop. First, choose the pictures that you want to place in the collage. Tip: Pick photos in the same category like photos in the beach, in the farm, or in the asylum. You can also upload pics from your digital camera or your personal digital assistant.
Photoshop Proper: We crop all the pictures that we want to put in the collage through the marquee tool. Then we link all our pictures to create our first line of images. Press control, and drag all the pictures that we link to push the pictures by ten pixels simultaneously. We then unlink our photos and move a picture to left. Do this step twice. Then we unlink them again and move a picture to the right side. Repeat the unlink and move steps until you reach the last row.

To be honest with you, I don't actually know where to put this entry. It's not an accessory nor is it a kind of photography art. I'm talking about toners. I know I'm supposed to talk about digital photography but I thought to put this in just in case anyone would like to dabble in good old photography. Do you know how old photos look? They look yellowed but feel brittle. If you like the look of old photographs but don't want to mess with Photoshop editing tricks, this is the solution for you.
Camera manufacturers, like Kodak, also produce toners. These toners usually come packaged with bleach; you only need to measure and mix the bleach and toner separately with water. Don't worry, you won't need a darkroom for this. Just print your photos or get old photos that you like. Photos with high contrast are preferable, and if you're using digital prints, make sure to print them on hard photo paper. Also, let the ink dry first. Wear gloves and position your station in an area with good ventilation and running water. Prepare three trays and fill the second one with water to rinse the photos. Toning is a very simple process: individually bleach the photos, rinse with water, and put through the toner. Longer bleaching results to deeper shades of the toner. Hang the photos to dry. Three simple steps and you have updated, or rather "outdated", your photos.

As a child I have always been intrigued of what the night sky holds? As I grew up, I learned from school about the other heavenly bodies freely hanging up in the vast space of the universe. When I took up photography, my interest about astronomy has become even more intensifies. I, at least, found a way to take photos of the sky, the stars, the other planets, the comets, etc. For aspiring photographers, astrophotography seems like unreachable, not only because it sounds and looks complicated. But more importantly, it takes the right tools and the proper knowledge to do so.
To take decent pictures of the night sky, it's not important that you use a telescope. All you need is a reliable DSLR camera and a telephoto lens. As I've discussed in my recent article, telephoto lens act like a telescope to magnify images that cannot be seen on ordinary camera lenses. With this duo, you can take impressive photos of the moon, comets, clusters of stars, and so on. For starters, the moon is a good subject. Using a steady tripod, point your camera, remember to turn off the flash and shoot. Remember too that practice makes perfect.

Photographers, like me, make a living by capturing pictures of people, places, and events. Some photographers have their hands on child photography. But while it's a very lucrative area of photography, it can be quite a problem especially for those who are just starting out. You know why? Children, babies, or infants are among the hardest subjects to tame for the camera (next to animals, I guess). You could just wish that they have a wind-up key at their backs so you can instruct them to move the way you want them to. But the scenario is totally different because children have their own world.
The best approach to deal with children in front of the camera is to capture their natural glory. Doing it in a natural approach will lessen your worries while getting your desired shot. You can shoot a one-year old baby while crawling in a background of clouds, or a crying infant lying in a field of rose petals, and the like. Try using fun props and costumes; this way, you can make the child more at ease in front of your camera and you can have photos that look more natural and not too stiff or choreographed.

Hologram stickers-- we see them every now and then; on mobile phone batteries, DVD covers, appliances, etc. but almost always we ignore them. What we only know about them is that they're proof that the product we bought is genuine. Hologram is a picture produced from a technique called 'holography.'
This process includes the recording and reproduction of 3D images through a laser beam. The resulting hologram is a piece of photographic film which records the unfocused pattern of light waves coming from the picture taken. Using a laser light illuminating both the scene and the film, a hologram is created. It has an important property of containing light of only a single color. Again, a laser light is passed through the developed hologram, the original pattern of light from the scene viewed is recreated in every aspect thus making it visible in three dimensions. The magic of the hologram sticker is allowing a person looking at it to view behind the image by moving his head sideways.
The hologram sticker, a simple invention by a physicist named Denis Gabor in the 1940's which still finds its use up to this very day.

I can vividly remember a few years back when I attended a friend's photo exhibit at some art gallery in downtown Los Angeles. What striked me the most was the theme of the whole exhibit. "Passion Photography." The photos on display were part of a series which he took while he went on a photo workshop in Laos. Imagine going nearly halfway around the world just to take pictures of monks dressed in orange saffron robes. That, I think, was truly passionate.
And so most of his subjects were Buddhist monks. He told me that, that was how he perceived the place--through a Buddhist's eyes. I noticed one picture of a monk sitting down on a bench casually lighting up a stick of cigarette . I asked him if that was part of passion photography too. Then he laughed at me as if to say that I didn't quite cut through the message that he wanted to impart.
Passion photography is not merely taking pictures out of ordinary events that transpire around us. It is capturing stories; stories that can speak words despite the silence. It's not enough that you merely click your camera on a certain subject; you have to know them; get familiar with them. That way you can as well tell their stories; their passions.

From time to time, we receive finished pictures from the photo lab and notice that our eyes, and also those of our pets' have taken on a red glow. The red eye effect is usually caused by the reflection of the camera flash on the eyes of the subject but this can be prevented. Notice that flash reflectors are used by professionals in photo studios? This bounce reflectors capture the direct light from the flash to offer a more subtle lighting.
Another way is to have pictures taken twice. By having the camera's pre-flash( usually built-in the camera) reflected on the eyes prior to another shot, the pupils are narrowed down. But this can only work if the subject is looking directly at the flash. Another effective way of reducing this effect is to turn on the lights in the room. Red-eye often happens because there's no sufficient light that allow the pupils to contract. You can likewise avoid this by asking your subject to face another direction and not look directly to the camera flash. Now you know a lot about the red eye so don't blame me next time you still see it in your pictures.

Have you ever wondered how it feels taking a snapshot of a very exciting NBA game? Well, for most part sports photography is a hit-and-miss affair. Sometimes even sports photographers get so star-strucked that they miss a very important shot. If you catch Kobe Bryant dunk over seven-footer Yao Ming would you dare miss the moment? Of course not, but because it's your job, you have to do it.
The secret of any sports photographer is to think like the player. You have to anticipate on his next move, otherwise, you just might miss a good shot. Also it helps to be equipped with the latest digital technology. Some snappers need very costly lenses that are worth something between $2,500-3,000. If you have these kind of lenses, consider yourself lucky. While others have to make do with with what they have and be contented with manual cameras which makes it all the more difficult.
Whatever is there with this job, sports photographers are very passionate when it comes to their craft. You can see the difference with the photos. One is passionate when he is capturing moments and not merely taking pictures.

Nothing captures a special event in our life or maybe just a simple moment like a photograph can. The fondest memories of yesterday are reminisced through pictures injecting that nostalgic feeling especially when shared with families and close friends. Though some pictures may have yellowed with age, the memories and even life's lessons are still intact and relived over and over again.
For many people, old photographs create a sense of reflection and evoke sentimental emotions. Pictures tell stories behind what the eyes can't see. It brings out an almost magical power which transports us to a different time and place. It captivates our minds and hearts. It also helps us understand our true personalities since photographs capture a part of our well-being from the past. This way we can better know how our goals, ambitions, hopes and wishes have changed through the passing of time.
We are just so lucky that because of the available technology that we have today we can restore our old photographs. There are digital techniques that can help preserve, repair and enhance those old family portraits like scanning, colorizing, restoration, etc. Pictures remain to be silent witnesses to our past but through photo restoration technology we can keep these testimonies forever.

The best way to capture the beauty of nature is through a camera's lens. Nature is perhaps the most valuable thing that we can treasure in this planet. However, because of developments we tend to degrade the earth and destroy its creatures. It's a sad reality that maybe in the coming generations they will only get to see nature in the pages of a book or through the internet.
Nature photography allows us to see the side of nature that we cannot see trough ordinary eyes. Photographers use techniques to capture the perfect image of nature using their eye for art and produce pictures out of them. Capturing the earth's beauty can be a truly emotional and rewarding experience.
Before anything else, you have to do a lot of practice. Practice capturing flowers or trees in your backyard. With practice, you can gain the required skill in taking perfect photos. In capturing nature, it is also important that you know the subject. Do some research before going into the field to take photos. When you are all set to take pictures, all you need is your camera, your instinctiveness, and a little inspiration from nature's beauty.

Taking good pictures rely on good photo composition. Here is where the elements of image, lighting and subject come into play to produce a perfect picture that conveys the photographer's ideas and emotions. There are rules to remember to achieve a good picture composition. Be mindful of them the next time you take pictures to produce professional photos.
You have to start by learning the 'rule of thirds'. It is done by visually dividing your subject into three parts, horizontally and vertically. By doing so, you can achieve good framing of the subject which makes the resulting picture visually stimulating and a lot more interesting. Non-professionals should practice this every time they take pictures. Another guideline is when you are capturing a moving subject leave a space in front of it. The subject will appear to be moving into instead out of the photo. Doing so can help produce a perfect picture.
It is also advisable to achieve good balance in taking your photo. You can do these by combining correctly the colors, shapes and light to achieve the right balance, thereby allowing you to achieve good photo composition. An interesting rule is to find an unusual point of view. Many prize-winning photos are produce because of this guideline. What you do is move your camera up and down or step to one side to find an unusual view.

Don't we just love to take pictures? We adore looking at them for hours and put a lot of effort into crafting a scrapbook or box so we can treasure them forever. If only there is a better way to make these cute photos last a lifetime.
Fading is the inevitable consequence of pictures that are not well taken cared of. This is even if we use quality materials and process to produce the prints. Thus, it is important to learn the art of storing and proper handling of your photographs for them to withstood time. Cute photos can still look good over the years if you handle them with care.
If you prefer not to frame your photos it is best to put them in clear albums made of polyester. In handling the prints, better have clean hands or use a cotton gloves instead. When choosing a frame for your photos, better use aluminum than wood because it is much safer. Wood is not acid-free which can later damage your photo. Store the photos away from high humidity or temperature to avoid moulds from building in your photos. Choose suitable containers for storing your photos. Lastly, if you plan to show off your photos by displaying them, avoid direct sunlight so use frames that have glass or plastic covering.

Photography is undoubtedly among the most rewarding hobbies or professions. For it goes beyond the mere task of capturing and producing keepsakes for the heart. More than anything else, photography is an art and it requires excellent skills in order to capture the entire essence and candid beauty of a person, a scene, or a view in a single shot.
Excelling in this passion means constant learning. No one becomes a good photographer after a few flashes and neither should one stop from improving his skills after he has learned the art. If you aspire to excel in photography, you can either take courses and workshops or you may go over some helpful resources on line.
Here are useful tips for all aspiring photographers. First, select and show the best images in order not to dilute their effect to the viewers. Second, learn about proper lighting. Photography is also about the art of lighting. Choose a perfect location and time of the day or an artificial light that would best yield your desired concept or theme. Third, the flash is an important tool in capturing images especially in dim light. However, you must also learn the tricks of using camera flash. For instance, keep away your subjects from light colored and blank walls that might produce shadows.

In the world of graphic arts manipulation, most people use Coreldraw because it works well with vector graphics. When it comes to photo manipulation, however, Adobe Photoshop is the king. Each time new software is released, it comes equipped with better tools, more simplified techniques to get the desired photographic result, and more creative possibilities that let you experiment with your art. One example of this is the Vanishing point tool.
When I designed websites in the past, I had to stretch, skew, and transform new image elements to make them conform to the perspective of an existing photo. Now, Photoshop's vanishing point plug-in handles the chore of matching perspective for me. This tool can define perspective planes to redesign a building and allows me to add text that conforms to the perspective of a photo.
The vanishing point window includes the Marquee, the Stamp, and the Brush tools, each of which has optional Healing modes. They work like the Healing Brush and Patch tools do in most Adobe Photoshop contexts. When you need to use other Photoshop tools and features, simply use them before using the vanishing point. For instance, you can apply drop shadows or other effects to the text, copy the layer containing the text, choose the Vanishing Point command, and then paste the text into the Vanishing Point dialog box. You can use the Transform tool to make further adjustments to the pasted text, again with the automatic perspective correction

Nature's glorious and fantastic beauty can be copied, but can never be repeated. That is why you have to capture every moment that comes, for that moment shall never pass that way again. So, what do you do? Captivate the moments with no less than the latest craze today, the digital camera.
On working with digital pictures as well as scanned ones, there are certain things that you must bear in mind. Otherwise, all your efforts will be wasted. With a software called photo editing software, you can now easily remove water marks from your photos. When any untoward event transpires, you can also save essential photos.
You have the option to take pictures by either using the JPEG format or the raw format. Not only that, now you can also get rid of dates in your picture if you wish to remove them. More importantly, you can enhance photos which are badly taken with the Touch-Up digital features. With your digital cam, you can remove picture backgrounds that you think make your photos look bad and thereby maintaining transparency. You can also e-mail your photos to your friends, family members, and relatives by connecting your digital camera to a computer. These are only some of the great advantages of having and using digital camera.
