Nikon is one of a recognized camera brand all over the world. This is why the brand's digital cameras are also gaining popularity among amateur and professional photographers. If you're looking for a Nikon digital camera that's within your budget, check out this review of the Nikon Coolpix L19
Pros of Nikon Coolpix L19
The Nikon Coolpix L19 is perfect for amateur photographers or basically for anyone who loves to point and shoot. The sturdy design of this digi cam makes it a very handy gadget. A part of its features is the 207-inch LCD screen wherein you can conveniently view your shots and other pictures taken previously. As a snapshot camera, the Nikon Coolpix L19 has two automatic modes -- the standard auto mode and the easy auto mode. With the standard auto mode, you can let the camera make all the important exposure decisions, whether you are shooting in a well-lighted or dark area. If you prefer more control over your shots, you can use the easy auto mode, which automatically detects your shooting conditions and allows you to switch to a more suitable scene mode.
Cons of Nikon Coolpix L19
Because this camera is meant for the budget-conscious shoppers, some users are not happy with the digital camera's reaction to very bright shooting conditions. In some cases, too much light causes the LCD screen to display streaks that can mess up the shots. Another disadvantage of this camera is that its video camera, although a decent feature, can get slow when changing the metering.
If you're looking for a pretty decent and budget-friendly digi cam from Nikon, the Nikon Coolpix L19 is the perfect. The image results may not be that excellent. But for its price, this is a pretty decent camera you can play with.

The digital single-lens reflex camera, more commonly known as DSLR, is a type of digicam. Unlike the digicam that enables image capture using an electronic image sensor, DSLR cameras utilize a mechanical mirror, which causes the light entering the lens to bounce off toward an optical viewfinder and image sensor. If you think that doesn’t seem like too big a difference, read on to compare DSLR and standard digicams.
Advantages of using a digital SLR
On the one hand, a typical digital camera is a simple point-and-shoot system, where the electronic image sensor automatically adjusts to the type and amount of lighting it is exposed to. For this reason, an ordinary digicam takes up more time between shots, as the image sensor has to be electronically activated after you press the shutter release button. On the other hand, a DSLR camera reacts to mechanical activation, causing the shutter to open and capture an image as you press the button. Aside from speed, the bigger DSLR advantage is the quality and definition of the images produced. DSLR cameras don’t need much lighting, so they can take shots without using flash and hence retain colors the way your eyes see them. Above all, with a DSLR camera, you can change lenses and make manual adjustments with the settings, so you have more power over how you want your pictures to appear.
Popular digital SLR brands
The DSLR camera market is dominated by four brands: Canon, Nikon, Olympus, Pentax, and Sony. If you’re buying a DSLR camera, your first consideration should be the price—not only of the camera body but also of peripherals, such as batteries, filters, lenses, and memory cards. You also need to look into the type of image sensor and resolution that you need to work with, as well as its added features.
A DSLR camera has a big advantage over standard digicams, especially in terms of speed and image quality. However, it also costs a lot more. If you have the extra bucks to shell out, then you need to examine what you really need. This will help you decide which features you can forego for now, so you’d still be able to afford a DSLR camera. Consider future upgrades when you think about the price factor.

Although early versions of the digicam have been around since the late 1980s, digital cameras experienced a stellar rise to popularity with the widespread use of the web. Today, blogging and social networking has turned digital cameras into a necessity. Digicams are now as common as mobile phones, and users need not be professional photographers to own one.
Basic features of digital photo cameras
Like conventional photo cameras, digicams are capable of capturing images and storing them to preserve special moments in your life. However, the similarities end there, as digicams don’t use film. Instead, they store captured images into a memory device. It can also record audio and video, as well as display photographs on a built-in display screen right after the shot was taken. Aside from these features, digicams usually come with software that enables an ordinary user to edit, crop, and add special effects to images. They have long battery life and are more compact and portable. Nowadays, digicams can be incorporated easily into computers and printers through USB ports and even wireless connections, such as Bluetooth.
Popular digi cam brands
The market leaders in digicams are Canon, Nikon, and Panasonic, although Sony, Fuji, Pentax, Olympus, Konica, and Kodak are also popular brands. When choosing a digital camera, don’t focus too much on the brand. Instead, make your own criteria based on what you prefer the most: is it a compact and sleek design? Light performance, digital zoom, and image resolution? Or, could it be a digicam model’s versatile connectivity? Once you’ve made your personal list, finding the right digicam won’t be as difficult.
A digicam comes in handy especially during special occasions. Digicams are so much easier to manage than their film-based counterparts. Before making a decision to buy a certain model, take some time to look into the features that you like and need most. Your lifestyle and budget are also important considerations.

When you are in the market for a digital photo camera, you are often faced with several choices. You don’t just have to choose the type of camera, pixel number, amount of internal memory, and the like. You also have to choose from several brands. And brand alone can make a difference in the kind of photos you come out with.
Digital camera brands: Olympus
Olympus is an old name in cameras. The company has been around since the 20th century. It introduced OM-1, which is one of the best manual SLR cameras around. The company followed this up with other SLR models, and eventually went into digital cameras. Olympus has always a good choice when it comes to SLR technology, manual or digital.
Digi cam brands: Sony
Sony is a reliable name in gadgets and gears. They are initially more known for audio and video products, such as walkmans and betamax machines. It was but natural that the company eventually ventured into digi cams.
You need to do research first when choosing a digital photo camera. Brands do matter in your decision because each one has their own pros and cons. Make your own list of what you want in your photo camera and go from there.

Ever since I was a child, I wanted to be a photographer. I knew it because I would always borrow my grandfather's camera. Do you remember that old and classic camera that gives you the photo minutes after shooting? I don't remember what it was called but I remember it being big and had an automatic printer in it. So, I went to college and got my photography degree. This is how I became a professional photographer.

Recently I got my new FinePix S5600 Fuji camera. I painstakingly saved for it just to purchase one because it's my dream camera. It has a compact body and it has a Super CCD HR sensor that enables me to capture life and preserve it in the best photo quality ever. I'm really satisfied with this Fuji camera because I can control it automatically or manually. It has a 10x Fujinon lens that I can zoom. Lastly, it has 1600 ISO setting that prevents blurs.

When I went to Hannover for an urgent reason I didn't bring so much baggage. I just made sure that I brought my personal kit and underwear collection. I couldn't remember why I was in a hurry save for the urgent call that my sister made. When I saw the palatial infrastructures of Germany, I suddenly remembered my camera. Damn! I left it. How sad and frustrating because I really wanted to capture Gemany's beauty. Well, at least I had my mobile phone's camera.

Choosing the perfect digital camera is as difficult as electing the perfect President. But cameras like the new Cyber-shot DSC-P200 from Sony cannot impose outrageous laws and drink mineral water. So, I think they're much better than the head of our State. The compact and durably built Sony camera is reasonably priced and easy to use. Its sleek and compact design allows it to fit comfortably in my hands. It 's packaged with the usable and modern features needed for ideal photography.

P200 is modestly priced at $349, and I think it's a good deal considering the features packaged with it.The controls located at the back part are easy to reach for the average-size thumb. Changing the camera settings and picture modes is a breeze with a few button presses. It is powered by a USB 2.0 which can transfer your images in less than a minute. On one charge, the camera which comes with a charger and batteries can provide over 400 shots, which is really impressive!
Tuesday, April 24. 2007
The P200 is a bit sluggish in taking flash photos. I also don't like its automatic focus feature because it is slow in locking on subjects. If you're a photographer who loves candid shots, then I suggest you choose another unit. You can check nine photos at once on its 2" Liquid Crystal Display screen. However deleting a single image requires tedious button pressing. Organizing your pictures is easy because you can make several folders via its Memory Stick. But you can't delete the folders within the camera.

I realized the impact of digital cameras on my eight-year-old niece, Kate, one evening when there was a dramatic comet shower. It's also my first time to see the heavens overflowing with shining and shimmering diamonds flying in a single direction. Pointing to the western sky, Kate said, "I wish we could click our cameras and save that." Afterall, comet shower doesn't happen all the time.
Actually we could, but the thing is, I forgot to bring our Olympus EVolt E-500 (thanks to my forgetful brain). This 8-megapixel camera provides over 15 photography modes ranging from the normal like portraits and landscape. It's body looks durable with the rubber grip that can fit comfortably in my hands. Owners of the EVolt definitely love the 2.5" Liquid Crystal Display with over 215,000 color pixels.
On the negative side, EVolt's body is a bit bulky and it's quite heavy. Hang around your neck and you'll feel like wearing a small bicycle wheel around your chest. Another gripe is that it is slow in saving the captured images, unlike other cameras where you can just click-and-save as much as you can. Another thing, the $900 price is quite high. People can already buy a sleek personal digital assistant with that price.

If you're going to snag a new digital camera, pick one with the PictBridge capability. Pict-Bridge is the latest technology in printing and photography wherein you won't be needing a desktop or laptop computer to print pictures from your camera. Just connect the USB cable from your digital cam to your printer and you can print glossy photos without batting an eyelash.
HP Photosmart R717 is an example of a camera with the PictBridge technology. I like this camera because it gives me a wide selection of photography modes like portrait and action. This camera is also highly ideal for spies and secret agents because of the picture mode called Museum wherein it shuts its usual flashes and clicking sounds so you can take all the shots you want anonymously.
The body is rubberized with a slick metal finish, which makes the camera a beauty on its own. For neophytes, you won't be needing a Dummies book or Idiot's guide to use the R717 because it has a well-detailed manual that you can read and follow until your eyeballs fall out. Expert's tip: Use an HP Photomart printer to print your pictures. Most of the printers in this series are equipped with the PictBridge technology.

Underwater photography is one of the most exciting facets of photography as it lets you explore into depths many would otherwise tread. But it won't be complete without a reliable waterproof camera that can capture the magical world down there.
Pentax has added a new waterproof digital camera that you can take anywhere even underwater. The Pentax W10 waterproof camera boasts of a 6-megapixel resolution and an optical zoom capable of zooming images up to three times. An all-weather camera, the W10 is made of strong material (even if it's predominantly plastic) which is why it's great for any outdoor activity: Whether you're headed for an adventure or just a simple beach outing.
Perhaps the most remarkable feature of this camera it its capability to go underwater even without a casing. It is capable of withstanding up to 30 minutes of continuous underwater operation to depths of up to 1.5 meters. The W10 surely breaks the barrier put up by pricey, waterproof digital cameras.

When Kodak comes out of their new products, the world is all ears and eyes. This new addition in the EasyShare Z Series, which is a line of budget super-zoom cameras, is not your run of the mill digicam. It has a powerful 2" LCD display and an Electronic Viewfinder that cannot be used simultaneously but it still gives you a clearer more precise images. The camera has a flash built in it that works pretty well in different flash settings whether it's auxiliary, automatic, red-eye and off.

If you think that I get to take home the gadgets that I review, you're absolutely wrong! Sad thing is I had to buy some of the products on my own just to try them out myself. But most often I don't, especially if it could cost me an arm and a leg. But here's a product that I bought not merely for the purpose of reviewing it and putting my observations into this blog, but for my personal use.
The first time I opened the box I was very excited at the sight of my new Kodak V530. It was very light and sleek, that you're free to hang it around your neck. And so what I did was go on a shooting frenzy to try just how it works. What's most amazing about this camera is the 20 shooting modes which comes very handy for camera-happy people. You've got portrait, standards, sports and landscape, among others. With its 5 megapixel image, no small detail can be missed.
In addition, you actually have the option to also zoom while you are recording a video. You can also convert these videos into still pictures. Call this gadget super-cool!

Beginners who wanted to try underwater photography for the first time usually wonder what kind of camera can be used to capture pictures underwater. For starters, there are two types of underwater camera systems that you can choose from. One is called amphibious camera and the other is a housed SLR land camera. Amphibious camera systems are small, lightweight, and more compact than the SLR camera system. However, the SLR offers more advanced features then the amphibious camera.
One will also ask if underwater cameras are reliable devices. The casings of underwater cameras are made of strong, rugged materials that were purposely created for underwater use. They should, however, be cleaned often to prevent salt deposits in the controls and joints. Taking underwater pictures is quite exciting. For beginners, it is important to take note of the following things. There’s a big difference between taking pictures on land and in water so you have to get closer to the subject, the nearer the better; get a good focus and you must have a good lighting source. Another thing, for amateurs it is more advisable to use print film instead of slide film to lessen the risk of exposure.

I found this new camera from Epson. It is called the Epson R-D1s Digital Rangefinder Camera. This makes the said model a successor the 1st ever camera rangefinder in the market today. The said camera model will be released in the later part of March in the land of Japan.
Features of Epson R-D1s Digital Rangefinder Camera are many. One of these features includes megapixels of up to 6.1 in measurement. Another thing that this digital camera boasts of are the varying settings that the camera user can utilize when taking different types of shots.
However, those who are unfamiliar with rangefinder cameras should take their time managing this camera if they wish to own one. It could get pretty complicated if you do not know how to use a rangefinder camera. But then again, practice makes perfect so there should be no room for worries. Besides, the LCD screen guides the user in whatever aspect of the camera use. Also, the user can always consult the manual that comes with the camera. Another nice thing about the Epson R-D1s Digital Rangefinder Camera is that it also has digital cards which help manage and store several images that are captured in the digital camera.

How 'bout finding the best of everything in one camera package?
I met a new friend in Kodak's EasyShare z700. Never has taking pictures been so easy. I can email, print, preview, transfer, and custom adjust my photos as I wish. It's equipped with printer dock that easily translates my digital dreams into reality. It's point and shoot, with digital zoom twenty times more powerful than your ordinary PnS camera. It can be shifted into manual mode, with adjustable shutter priority. I can send my photos directly to my computer like magic. It got so many shooting modes that I can't wait to go out and take my first shots.
There is simply not enough space to spare in praise of the EasyShare z700. If you've been looking for the image-capture kit that will make your visions come to life, you'll find it on EasyShare z700.

I must admit I'm a photography freak. In fact, I've been dreaming of the super-cameras that will allow me take pictures and record high-quality videos according to my every whim. Today these sacred picture machines are everywhere. Each time there's a new model out, I go postal.
Now I got hold of the news of the release of Casio's EX-S600 Exilim series. This digital camera is a real smash. It has been announced last October 2005 in Japan--now it's in the world market.
It reduces "camera shakes" while recording MPEG-4 videos, and it has a host of other high-performance features to boot. Can cameras get any better than this?
