With the invention of gadget called the camera, people found a more convenient way to capture the most important events in their lives. It has helped us produce portraits for us to reminisce the past and put time in stand still. With the aid of technology, the camera has had several developments and so is its purpose.
Eastman Kodak Company was the first to introduce the camera to the masses. That was our first time to have known a gadget that best represents photography. And for that, Kodak is considered until this very day, an institution in photography.
Many years later, Kodak started the mass production of its cameras. It developed all sorts of models for different functions. Today, the versatile digital camera is what makes Kodak a more vibrant company. As such it is very likely that Kodak expands to the other parts of the world. Kodak opened its Brazilian subsidiary in Manauas, Brazil. It is the first place where Kodak is manufacturing its cameras outside China. Manaus could just be the perfect place being a hub of technology and a place that enjoys tax exemptions in generous amounts. In addition, Brazil is the biggest South American market for Kodak cameras.

Sony, the leading camera manufacturer, had announced early this week its entry into the DSLR camera market with the Alpha DSLR-A100 system. The DSLR was a product of the tie-up between Kodak and Konica Minolta. The latter sold to Sony its intellectual property rights over its DSLR camera technology after it exited the camera business last January of this year.
The new Sony DSLR camera has a 10.2 megapixel camera resolution and has 22 Sony lenses that are all interchangeable. These lenses are likewise compatible with the mount lenses from the Maxxum line of Konica Minolta. The new camera will also include a whole range of 30 accessories such as flashes, battery packs, cable releases, and carrying cases that come in various styles.
The best draws about this Sony innovation is its high-light sensitivity, continuous shooting for 3 frames per second, and a Li-ion battery that allows users to take 750 shots of dramatic and portrait worth pictures when fully charged. It's equipped with a 2 1/2 “ LCD screen, supports both RAW and JPEG file formats and the eye-start automatic focus, that allows you to focus on the image before you press the shutter.

According to web reports, Canon (yes, I am talking about that brand based in Japan), the largest manufacturer of digital cameras, will concentrate on making digital cameras. Consequently, it may halt operations of the development of film models. The company is prompted to venture into this scheme due to the decreasing demand for film cameras in the market.
Admittedly, digital cameras have found a niche in the market today. More and more consumers have relied on the benefits of digital photography and digital cameras. While there are still those that use traditional film cameras because of their affordability, a huge mass of consumers compromised the price for the convenience that digital cameras offer. Canon, however, will still go on producing and selling those models that are already in the market.
It seems that camera makers have seen the growing trend in the market on the preference of consumers on digital cameras. It is not only Canon which expressed this sentiment. Nikon Corporation as well as Konica have both announced a slow down on film cameras. Nikon will continue selling professional film cameras. Who can blame these companies for being practical (as they say), right? These companies chose the lesser evil, otherwise, they will lose more money.

Leading aviation photographer, George Hall died last April 20 from complications of an open heart surgery. His death occurred 2 days before he was to accept a Lifetime Achievement Award from the International Society of Aviation Photography. My fondest memories as a child was when my mother bought a camera for me and my older sister. I can even remember how that Kodak manual camera looked like. And as kids at that age, the camera is like a toy to us. We took a lot of pictures not minding the fact that the camera has no film. So my one day bought a roll of Kodak film, and in split-second we're shooting pictures like were some bunch of crazy camera-happy kids. But as they say, all good things come to an end. The camera may not have lived with us until we were older but at least we shared good memories in it and some were even frozen in time.
When George Eastman invented the roll film, he has made it possible for ordinary masses to see for themselves how photography works. And so Kodak was born; that was in the 1880's. Today Kodak is a worldwide leader in photographic technology and a trusted name when it comes to cameras, films and photopaper. But times have changed and what was once in the top is now positioned at the bottom. Not the botom most part at least for Kodak, as it plummeted to the number 3 position since the last quarter of 2004, following its rivals Sony and Canon.

Nothing beats an exhilarating activity like mountain climbing especially if you have brought your digital camera with you. Taking pictures while you're atop a mountain can be a new satisfying experience for beginners. Pictures of snowy-peaked mountains, giant rock formation and an awesome image of what's below. Climbing Photography as they call it, may be an obstinate task for others, but for some people it brings a different kind of feeling that's almost like reaching the Himalayas.
Climbing photography is basically taking pictures while you're climbing. But it's just not mere taking pictures or clicking your camera each time your climbing partner says "Oh, that's cool!" You have to take in a few considerations to come up with the best scenic photo. Although climbing photography has certain similarities with scenic photography, don't make your shots boring by taking pictures of just plain mountains. Why not include a close-up of a climber from down the trail or smaller summits from nearby. Use your imagination and create an art out of your every shot. It doesn't matter what camera you are using, all you need is a bit of creativity, a pinch of camera tricks and a cup of climbing skills.

Photography students of the University of Washington recently rose to the challenge of taking pictures portraying hope. The images that they have captured are now posted on the walls of Harborview Medical Center. Apparently, the pictures that the students have taken are giving the patients, as well, as their respective families a reason to smile.
On the other hand, a student decided that she would like to give others a chance to show their perception about hope. What she did was to lend her camera to some people staying at the Harborview Medical Center. Her efforts were not ignored. Brian Chaffin, former patient of the said medical institution was one of the three people who accepted the proposition of the photography student. Mr. Chaffin is paralyzed at the chest downwards.
Chaffin's photos showed images of tall building situated outside of Haborview Medical Center. He took the photos while seated on his wheelchair.According to the former patient, hope also pertains to someone's freedom. A person, according to Brian Chaffin, has the freedom to go wherever it is that he wants to go. For him, the tall establishments symbolize the grandiosity of life. He also adds that the height of the buildings refers to the upward growth of a person. Furthermore, some people say that hope is not just felt. It is also seen inside Harborview Medical Center. Hope in itself is a reason to smile.

Photography is an art. It is also very powerful as it can be used to document certain actions and incidents that are controversial. This is the tool that paparazzi use in capturing celebrities to create gossip. Paparazzi thrive due to the insatiable need of people to see and know more about celebrities, idol or not. Paparazzi earn big bucks because magazines pay a lot to grab exclusive photos of the stars that will increase their sales.
Most paparazzi are really professional photographers. They know how to manipulate their cameras to take those shots at dim light, at long ranges, or even at most peculiar positions. They usually get their information about the whereabouts and doings of celebrities through venue owners or even the celebrities' workers, who they bribe to spill the information. Their most famous tactic is to locate a person who takes celebrity autographs and sells them to fans. They are the ones who usually has the inside information.
The pictures that are taken are usually in uncompromising position with stars looking less glamorous than their usual selves. Usually, they are seen without make up and wearing sunglasses. If you think this profession is for you and this article cannot convince you otherwise, just think about the effects it has on celebrities who are people too, just like you are.

It is common for most people not to like mathematics. I assume photographers don't too, since mathematics really does not have much anything to do with photography.
But in London, from February 1 to 12, at Lauderdale House, they will exhibiting Justin Mullins' work on photographs of mathematical equations. These photos may intrigue the mathematical mind but for physicists, mathematicians and geniuses, this exhibit will be a delight. For common people who doesn't know much about equations, you can enjoy their look at this exhibit.
Mullins chose to photograph mathematical equations that somehow explain the mysteries of life an the physical world, like theories of the universe, creation and matter.

The good thing about the digital age for us photographers is that we can edit the parts of our photos that we don't want. Moments and special shoots are too important to just put to waste but we sometimes we commit mistakes and capture just a little bit of our thumb, well, okay, a little bit of that car or vehicle that passed by. Anyway, we're human and we commit mistakes.
That is why there is a picture editor to help clean up our photos and make it a little bit more professional than we actually are.
